The Promo Portrait

Promotional portraits for performers, speakers, authors and business personalities.

A portrait built around what you are promoting.

A show, a book, a speaking engagement or your public profile. We work with you to create photographs that communicate the right character, tone and message for the occasion.

Bring a developed concept or the beginnings of an idea. We will help you shape the photographic direction.

Photographs with a job to do

The starting point is where your portrait needs to work and what it needs to communicate.

  • Performers: show publicity, festival listings, posters and press kits.
  • Speakers: event programmes, keynote announcements and speaker profiles.
  • Authors: book publicity, author biographies and media appearances.
  • Business personalities: interviews, editorial features and a recognisable public profile.

The approach can be direct and understated or more expressive and theatrical. It should fit you, your audience and the work you are putting into the world.

Shape the idea. Make the photograph.

You do not need to arrive with a finished concept. We work with you to turn the brief into a photographic direction.

  1. Start with the purpose. Tell us what you are promoting, who needs to see it and where the photographs will appear.
  2. Develop the direction. We discuss the mood, wardrobe, setting and any visual references that help communicate your idea.
  3. Work together in the session. Guided posing, expression and lighting give us room to refine the image as we go.

If the image will sit beneath a title, beside a biography or inside a specific layout, bring those requirements into the brief from the beginning.

Portraits ready for promotion

Each session is tailored to the brief, with the final images and crops shaped around where you plan to use them.

  • High-resolution files delivered digitally
  • Editing that maintains clarity, depth, and adaptability
  • Full usage rights for promotional and professional use
  • Crops suitable for posters, thumbnails, speaker bios, and campaigns

Include any publisher, designer or event organiser specifications in your enquiry, along with the date the finished images are needed.
