DRESS FOR SUCCESS
Corporate Headshots
→ Professional clothing photographs well.
→ Suggestions: Suit jacket (optional tie) with shirt / simple blouse or a tailored dress with sleeves.
→ Choose an outfit that you always feel great in and would wear to meet an important client.
→ Keep jewellery simple to maintain the focus on you.
→ Bring clean, pressed garments on a hanger to avoid creasing.
Acting & Dating Photography
Call to discuss wardrobe if you are booking Acting or Dating photography.
→ Acting: Simple neckline in Black / White / Neutral (darker skin tones).
→ Dating: New or near new items, pressed well, simple with a range of jackets and shirts and blouses.
Colours
→ Select colours that align with the colours in your brand, or the attire and colours worn by others at a company with whom you aspire to work.
→ Simple necklines and solid colours photograph well (e.g., avoid patterns, checks and florals).
→ Avoid wearing colours that are very close to your skin tone and florescent hues or bold prints.
→ Consider your background. Select a jacket or structured top that provides separation from the background.
Hair & Nails
→ Simple and tidy, in a style that has a little more polish, shine and smoothness than your everyday look.
→ Controlled waves and curls that provide shine and minimize “frizz”.
→ Carefully shaven face and neck, or well-trimmed facial and neck hair.
→ Clean, filed nails, or manicured with fresh, neutral polish.
Skin & Makeup
→ Professional daytime look if wearing make-up.
→ If not wearing Make-up, apply a light moisturiser to the lips and face and lips. Press the face with setting powder to reduce shine.
Pose & Expression
Each company or person will have their own style, however; we offer the following as a guide;
→ Orientation: stand tall and relaxed, shoulders and feet facing 11 or 1 o’clock.
→ Keep your shoulders and hips in place, then turn your face and eyes to the camera lens.
→ Expression: Friendly and approachable, with a smile – alternatives may also be appropriate.
→ Hands may be shown in a variety of ways (we will help) – practice placing one hand just below your hip, relax your wrist and keep shoulders down.
