A professional headshot does not need replacing simply because it is a few years old. It needs replacing when it stops being useful.
That can happen because you have changed, your work has changed, or the photograph is now being asked to do a job it was never created for.
Your appearance has changed enough that meeting you after seeing the image feels like meeting a different version of you.
A photograph that worked earlier in your career may no longer suit a leadership role, new business, board position or different professional audience.
A LinkedIn profile, company website, speaker biography and media request can place different demands on the same photograph. Sometimes one image can cover them. Sometimes it makes more sense to create a few variations.
If you are reluctant to send the photograph, add it to a new website or use it for an upcoming opportunity, that is useful information. The issue may not be that it is a bad photograph. It may simply no longer feel like you.
If your current image still works, keep using it. If it doesn’t, we start by working out what needs to change.
Most people who come to us are not used to being photographed professionally. You do not need to arrive knowing how to stand, what expression to make or which photograph will work best.
We guide those decisions with you.
Before we start shooting, we talk through where the images will be used and how you need them to work. That might mean one straightforward professional headshot, or different images for LinkedIn, your website, speaking engagements or another professional use.
You receive preparation information before your session, and you are welcome to bring options. At the studio we can help you decide what photographs well and what makes sense for the image you are creating.
We guide posture, angles and expression throughout the session. The adjustments are usually small, and you can see the photographs appearing on screen as we work.
We review the photographs with you rather than sending you away with a gallery to figure out alone. Once you have chosen your images, we discuss the retouching before the finished files are prepared.
Black & white images
Each package includes a professionally edited black-and-white version of one of your selected headshots.
This is an additional version of the same photograph, not an additional headshot.
You see the photographs before you choose them, and retouching is discussed rather than simply applied.

What should I wear for my headshot?
Choose clothing that makes sense for your role and where the photograph will be used. We send preparation and wardrobe information before your session, and you can bring options if you are unsure. We can help you decide when you arrive.
Can I bring more than one outfit?
Yes. We encourage you to bring a couple of options, even if you’ve already decided what to wear. We can help you choose what photographs well based on your package and what the images need to do.
What backgrounds can I choose from?
Our studio offers black, white and grey background options, with lighting that can range from clean and bright to darker and more dramatic. We help you choose combinations that suit the purpose of each photograph.
How much retouching is included?
Advanced retouching is included with your selected images. We discuss what you would like changed rather than automatically applying heavy retouching, so the finished photograph still looks recognisably like you.
Can you match the style of my company’s existing headshots?
Yes. If your organisation already has an established style, send us an example before the session. Where practical, we can match elements such as background, lighting, crop and overall treatment so your photograph fits with the rest of the team.
Where can I use my finished headshots?
Your finished files are prepared for professional digital and small-print use, including LinkedIn, company websites, speaker profiles, proposals, email signatures and similar professional applications.
